DRAWN ARC STUD WELDING SYSTEMS
These drawn arc stud welding systems weld fasteners by striking an arc, then lifting the fastener and then plunging the fastener into the molten material after a specified time. These systems use a ceramic ferrule to contain the molten material or can use an inert gas as a shield. They can weld studs from 1/4" diameter to 1 1/4", according to the power source in the welding machine. These systems have adjustments for weld current and lift time. The current and lift functions are used to adjust the welder to weld different diameter studs.

1300 Amps
Stud Capacity #10 thru 5/8"
Description
This unit is a compact and portable stud welding power supply capable of welding
studs thru 5/8" diameter weld base. The fully regulated power supply which operates on three phase power produces a smooth, stable welding arc. Both the weld time and weld current are infinitely adjustable for preciseness and repeatability.
For maximum flexibility the weld time can be switched between two ranges. The expanded short time range provides fine adjustment of the weld time for special short cycle applications such as welding to thin materials.
A specially designed electronic gun control circuit has been incorporated to increase the overall
reliability. If a fault condition occurs due to a shorted gun solenoid or a faulty control cable, the circuit will prevent gun
re-triggering and eliminate damage to the printed circuit board.

Soyer Stud Welding Drawn Arc and Short-Cycle Equipment
Since January 1, 1970 Soyer Stud Welding has been developing,
producing, selling and servicing stud welding devices. These products guarantee
top quality in technology, compact design and safety. Southern Stud Weld is
proud to be a distributor for this state-of-the-art stud welding
equipment. All of these machines feature microprocessor control to assure consistent
weld parameters.
Soyer drawn arc and short-cycle stud welding equipment uses the latest in
control technology to guarantee absolute uniformity and reproducibility of the
functional sequence. The consistent weld parameters produce consistent results
and save time and money in your manufacturing application.
The Soyer systems are designed using a modular concept. This allows the
equipment to work with different welding guns, automatic welding heads, feeders,
and positioning systems to provide a solution to your welding application.
Short-cycle drawn arc welding uses the same basic principle as drawn arc
welding, however, with the ability to weld with large currents and short time
periods. This allows these systems to weld short cycle studs that cost less than
the flux loaded drawn arc weld studs. These machines also will allow the use of
shielding gas, instead of the ceramic ferrules. These systems can also use the
ceramic ferrules if necessary.
BMK-12W Stud Welding System
The BMK-12
stud welder is very user friendly. Weld parameters are set using a membrane
keyboard and display. Microprocessor control and programmability assures consistent weld
sequences. This machine automatically controls inert shielding gas delivery to
the weld zone. The 800 amp power source can weld fasteners up to 3/8"
diameter. This system features the ability to adjust the pre-arc time to weld to
dirty or oily surfaces. The amount of shielding gas that flows prior to welding
is also adjustable. The unit has advanced safety features to protect the
operator. The lift and pre-arc functions can be tested without welding current.
The system can be fitted with a module to support automatic or semi automatic
stud feeding. The system can also be controlled via a CNC interface.

BMK-16W Stud Welding System
The
BMK-16
stud welder is very powerful, but compact and portable. Weld parameters are set using
a membrane keyboard and display. Unlike the 2 models shown above, the BMK-16
allows adjustment of all the weld parameters including the weld current. Microprocessor control and programmability assures consistent weld
sequences. This machine automatically controls inert shielding gas delivery to
the weld zone. The 1000 amp adjustable and regulated power source can weld fasteners up to
5/8" diameter with reduced base.
The BMK-16 Stud Welding System also has the process-monitoring quality control
system as an option. The welding parameters are measured by the system and are
printed out via external software. The system can also detect if the parameters
are out of a set range and set off an error condition. This will alert the
operator of a potential problem weld and allow the operator to correct the
situation. This saves time and money, and may be a requirement for ISO 9001
quality assurance programs.
